Ontario Football, members and stakeholders commit to an aligned football delivery model.

Hamilton, Ontario May 12, 2021 - The Ontario Football Alliance (OFA) is excited to announce a new partnership with the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA), the Ontario Football League (OFL), and the Ontario Football Conference (OFC). Ultimately, this partnership will ensure aligned athlete-centered football delivery in the province to grow participation and development throughout Ontario, with the support of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) and the Ontario Football Officials Association (OFOA).

“The OUA supports this aligned vision for amateur Football in Ontario,” says Gord Grace, CEO of Ontario University Athletics. “OUA Central, along with our eleven University Football Members and their coaches, look forward to working with OFA to build a new path for amateur football in a unified approach and supporting all provincial football leaders, coaches and volunteers, clubs and sanctioned leagues in growing the game of football.”

Aligned with Ontario Football's mission to develop football in Ontario and gathering the main provincial stakeholders, this partnership represents an important step in ensuring a unified sport coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic and aligning with long-term athlete development.

“We are both excited and optimistic about this collaborative approach to delivering football in the province.” said Aaron Geisler, Executive Director for Ontario Football “ It is important to have all our members and like-minded stakeholders around the table to create a unified vision for the delivery of both spring and fall, contact and non-contact football and this task force is the starting point for that. Ultimately we want to provide a clear pathway for participants to enter into the sport and alignment, partnership and marketing will be crucial in achieving that
goal.”

The OFL, NCAFA, and OFC will work in close collaboration with the OFA, OUA, and OFOA for a period of three years to reach its objectives of developing a clear structure for provincial alignment in the delivery of football, and increasing exposure, marketing, fundraising/sponsorship, competition and participation of athletes from age 6 to 18+ in the province.

Additionally, this level of cooperation will enhance visibility in the marketplace, increase value to all members both fiscally and operationally, increase visibility for participants, reduce operation costs, reduce human labor costs and enhance collaboration with outside stakeholders and private corporations.

Any interested stakeholder or partner that wants to be involved in this initiative is encouraged to reach out to find out how to be involved. More announcements to follow.
